Google Meet has no card of its own in Darwin, because it does not need one. Connect Google Calendar and Google Meet is already the video call in your booking rules: every meeting Darwin books gets a Meet link, added by Google at the moment the event is created. There is nothing extra to connect and no Meet account to link. If you book with Calendly instead, the Meet link comes from Calendly. Choose a Calendly meeting type with a Google Meet location and Calendly adds the link through its own connection to your Google account; Darwin plays no part in that. See Connect Calendly.

Before you start

  • Be an owner or admin of the Darwin workspace.
  • Connect Google Calendar, or plan to. Google Meet is chosen in its booking rules, not on a page of its own.
  • Meet is part of the Google account you connect, not something Darwin runs, so if that account has its own Meet settings, expect them on Darwin’s meetings too.
1

Connect Google Calendar

Open Integrations → Scheduling, select the Google Calendar card, and connect the Google account that will host the meetings. The full walkthrough is in Connect Google Calendar. That one connection is all Google Meet needs; there is no second sign-in for Meet.
2

Check the Video call rule

You are still on the Google Calendar setup page; the booking rules are there too. Look for Video call. On a fresh connection it already says Google Meet, and if that is what you see, you are done with this step. It is only when it says Zoom or None that you have something to do: select Change, pick Google Meet under Video call, then Save booking rules.
3

Confirm it

The booking rules on the setup page now list Google Meet as the video call. The first booking is the real proof: open its event in your Darwin bookings calendar and the Meet link is on it.

What happens when a visitor books

When the visitor selects Confirm meeting in chat:
  1. Darwin creates the event in your Darwin bookings calendar and asks Google to add a Meet link to it. Google makes the link, the same way it does when you add Meet to an event yourself; Darwin never generates one.
  2. The invitation the visitor receives comes from Google, not from Darwin, and the Meet link is on it, so they have everything they need to join.
  3. In Darwin, the meeting appears under Verified meetings, next to the conversation that led to it.
Visitors cannot edit the event or add guests. Beyond that, the link behaves as Meet always does in that Google account: whatever the account’s Meet settings say applies to meetings Darwin books as well.

Cancel or move a meeting

Manage bookings in Google Calendar, as described in Connect Google Calendar:
  • To cancel, delete the event from the Darwin bookings calendar; Google tells the visitor, and the Meet link disappears with the event. Darwin notices within a few minutes and marks the meeting canceled, with nothing for you to do on its side.
  • Move the event to another time and the Meet link moves with it; nothing about the link changes. Google sends the visitor the update and Darwin records the new time on its own.
  • For a booking made through Calendly, cancel or reschedule in Calendly. Darwin follows there too, within minutes.
Select Change beside the booking rules and set Video call to Zoom or None, then select Save booking rules. Zoom is greyed out until a Zoom account is connected under Integrations → Video calls; see Connect Zoom. Whichever you choose, only new bookings are affected: events that already exist keep the link they have. With None, new bookings carry no video link at all.

Try the experience

You do not have to book anything real to see the flow. Agent Studio, in the sidebar, has a chat preview; open it and ask to book a meeting, and you will get the booking form, fed with sample times. Nothing comes of it: no event, no invitation, no Meet link, and none of it reaches analytics or billing. A live check needs a live booking. Book a test meeting with a teammate through the chat installed on your public website, then look in three places: the Darwin bookings calendar, where the event carries the Meet link; the invitation, which has the same link; and Verified meetings in Darwin, where the meeting appears. A live booking may count toward usage; the preview does not.

Connection needs attention

No. Meet comes with the Google account you connected for Google Calendar, and Darwin asks Google for the link when it creates the event. There is no Meet card to look for, and nothing to approve beyond the Google Calendar permissions you already granted.
Darwin accepts single-host, one-to-one meeting types with exactly one location, and that location must be Google Meet or Zoom. A meeting type with a second location, or a different kind of location, stays available through your Calendly scheduling link but not in the chat. Read the reason beneath the meeting picker, adjust the meeting type in Calendly, and choose it again.
