# Connect Claude

> Connect Claude, Claude Desktop or Claude Code to Darwin and ask about your website chat: results, leads, unanswered questions and opening tests.

<div className="darwin-location"><strong>Find it in Darwin</strong> Settings → API → AI assistants <a href="https://app.meetdarwin.ai/admin/settings/api">Open this screen ↗</a></div>

Add Darwin to Claude as a connector, and Claude can read your website chat's results and conversations and, if you allow it, update the agent.

## Claude on the web or desktop

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add a custom connector">
    In Claude, open **Settings → Connectors** and add a custom connector named **Darwin** with this URL:

    ```text theme={null}
    https://app.meetdarwin.ai/api/mcp
    ```

    On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may need to add it for the organisation first. Connectors you add on the web also appear in Claude Desktop.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in to Darwin and allow">
    Select **Connect**. Darwin asks you to sign in, then shows **Connect Claude to Darwin**. Choose read only if you like, and select **Allow**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Ask">
    In a new chat, ask *"Using Darwin, how many meetings did the chat book in the last 7 days?"* Claude calls Darwin and answers with your numbers.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Claude Code

```bash theme={null}
claude mcp add --transport http darwin https://app.meetdarwin.ai/api/mcp
```

Then run `/mcp` in Claude Code, choose **darwin** and sign in to Darwin in the browser that opens. To use an API key instead, add `--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"` to the command.

## What to ask

* *"How did the chat do this week compared with last?"*
* *"What did visitors ask that the agent couldn't answer?"*
* *"Show me yesterday's leads and what they wanted."*
* *"Which opening is winning?"*
* *"Add our new refund policy to what the agent knows."* (full access only)

## Read only or full access

On Darwin's consent screen, tick **Read only: let it look, never change anything** to let the assistant read results, conversations, leads, meetings and tests without changing anything. Leave it unticked to also let it add knowledge, change the agent's wording and look, and manage opening tests. Only an owner or admin can allow a connection, and **Settings → API → AI assistants** lists every connection with a **Disconnect** button.
