# Connect ChatGPT

> Add Darwin to ChatGPT as a custom MCP server and ask about your website chat: results, leads, unanswered questions and opening tests.

<div className="darwin-location"><strong>Find it in Darwin</strong> Settings → API → AI assistants <a href="https://app.meetdarwin.ai/admin/settings/api">Open this screen ↗</a></div>

Add Darwin to ChatGPT, and ChatGPT can read your website chat's results and conversations and, if you allow it, update the agent.

## Add Darwin

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add a custom MCP server">
    In ChatGPT, open **Plugins**, select the **+** button, then **Add custom MCP server**. Name it **Darwin**, and under **Connection** enter:

    ```text theme={null}
    https://app.meetdarwin.ai/api/mcp
    ```
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set up sign-in">
    Choose OAuth for authentication, review the warning, select **I understand and want to continue**, then **Create as a plugin**. ChatGPT lists Darwin's tools.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in to Darwin and allow">
    When ChatGPT sends you to Darwin, sign in, choose read only if you like, and select **Allow**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Ask">
    In a new chat, type `@` and pick **Darwin**, then ask *"How many meetings did the chat book in the last 7 days?"*
  </Step>
</Steps>

Your ChatGPT plan, and your workspace's policies on a business plan, decide whether you can add custom MCP servers. If you don't see **Add custom MCP server**, ask your ChatGPT workspace admin.

## What to ask

* *"How did the chat do this week compared with last?"*
* *"What did visitors ask that the agent couldn't answer?"*
* *"Show me yesterday's leads and what they wanted."*
* *"Which opening is winning?"*
* *"Add our new refund policy to what the agent knows."* (full access only)

## Read only or full access

On Darwin's consent screen, tick **Read only: let it look, never change anything** to let the assistant read results, conversations, leads, meetings and tests without changing anything. Leave it unticked to also let it add knowledge, change the agent's wording and look, and manage opening tests. Only an owner or admin can allow a connection, and **Settings → API → AI assistants** lists every connection with a **Disconnect** button.
