# Choose your email updates

> Manage meeting alerts, milestones, experiment digests, reports, and setup guidance for your Darwin workspace.

<div className="darwin-location"><strong>Find it in Darwin</strong> Settings → Notifications <a href="https://app.meetdarwin.ai/admin/settings/notifications">Open this screen ↗</a></div>

Keep the updates that help you and turn off the ones you don’t need. These choices apply to **your email address in the selected workspace**. Changing your choices does not change a teammate’s preferences.

## Choose what reaches your inbox

| Email update | What you receive | Default |
| ----------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------- |

| The moments worth celebrating | Setup and installation milestones, first conversation, and booking milestones | On |
| What Darwin is learning | New opening tests and promoted winners, grouped into daily digests | On |
| Your weekly report | A Monday snapshot of real conversations, confirmed bookings, and promoted winners | Off |
| Help getting started | Reminders for your next unfinished step and product updates | Only with your opt-in |

Open **Settings → Notifications**, change the switches, then select **Save preferences**. The page shows your destination email and recent email delivery states.

Test-chat activity does not trigger meeting celebrations or appear in the weekly report. A booking-link interaction is not treated as a verified meeting unless the scheduling provider confirms it.

## Setup guidance follows your progress

If you opt in, Darwin focuses on **one unfinished step at a time**: set up your assistant, verify its installation, try test chat, then enable automatic testing. Steps you have already finished are skipped.

* The first reminder arrives no sooner than a day after a step becomes your next task.
* If it is still unfinished, a practical follow-up arrives three days after the first email. A final offer of help follows four days later.
* After three messages for that step, reminders stop. Finishing it unlocks guidance for the next unfinished step, with at least three days between guidance emails.
* Darwin checks your progress again just before sending. Completing a step cancels its remaining reminders, including queued ones.

If everything is set up, the setup reminders end. Meeting alerts, milestone celebrations and billing emails continue according to their own rules and your preferences. Canceling your subscription or turning off setup guidance also stops these reminders.

You can opt in during account creation or later in Notifications. Existing accounts are not automatically enrolled into a new signup sequence. Turning guidance off and on does not reset messages you have already received.

## Your first two emails

Your immediate welcome comes from **Darwin**. It explains what your assistant does and walks through the setup steps, with a PNG illustration and instructions that remain readable if your email app hides images.

About one hour after signup, you receive a separate thank-you from **Ari, Darwin’s founder**. You can reply directly. Other reminders and notifications come from Darwin, not Ari’s personal sender name.

## Emails that stay available

Account verification, password recovery, requested invitations, and important service messages continue independently of marketing preferences. Workspace owners receive billing receipts, payment alerts, allowance notices, and subscription changes. Regular members do not receive the owner’s financial emails.

Meeting invitations to the visitor come from your calendar provider. Darwin’s booking notifications go to your workspace members who have enabled them.

## Unsubscribe from an update

Use **Unsubscribe** in an optional email, then confirm the choice. That link turns off that category for that workspace. Your mail app may also offer a one-click unsubscribe control. Use **Email preferences** to review all categories.

Essential account and billing messages remain available. You can turn optional updates back on in Notifications whenever you like.

## If an email is missing

Check the destination email shown in Notifications and your spam folder. A **Queued** message is waiting to be sent; **Sent** means the email provider accepted it; **Delivered** means delivery was reported. These states do not mean an email was read.

Darwin stops sending to addresses reported as bounced or spam complaints. If your address is correct and delivery still fails, [contact support](/help/contact). Never share a password reset or private invitation link in a public support post.
